British Eventing support Claire Lomas and Spinal Research

The team at British Eventing were set to raise funds to support Claire Lomas, the paralysed former-Event rider’s latest campaign this weekend on the popular trade-stand at the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials.

Due to the unfortunate cancellation of Badminton, British Eventing would like to donate 10% of all sales of their latest merchandise range between today and Tuesday 8th May 2012 to Claire’s fund-raising effort for Spinal Research.

Merchandise can be purchased via the online shop on as an alternative way to support this campaign or donations can be made directly to British Eventing helped Claire with sales of her ‘Riders Revealed’ calendar from the trade stand at Burghley in 2011 so raising funds at Badminton seemed the obvious choice to continue to help her cause.

Claire, who was injured in an Eventing accident in 2007 has a T4 spinal cord injury which means she is paralysed from the chest down; she has taken up the challenge of walking the London Marathon in a robotic suit and is achieving over a mile a day with the support of national celebrities and house hold Eventing names.

Claire’s target of raising £50,000 for Spinal Research has already been well exceeded with the huge support of the Eventing community.

British Eventing will also continue to take donations for Spinal Research on the BE trade-stands at Bramham, The Festival of British Eventing in July and also at The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials in September.
