Eventing season could be prolonged

Along with many other outdoor sports and events, British Eventing affiliated events have experienced an unprecedented amount of disruption, leading to over seventy days of competition lost from the 2012 calendar. Approximately twenty days of competition have been added to the BE calendar and additional possibilities are being constantly explored.

"BE would like to take this opportunity to reassure the sport’s audience that due to the Abandonment Insurance scheme, Members are being refunded for their entry fees for events that have had to cancel. "

"At this point we are only just over half-way through the season. Currently there are still around 4,000 entries available around the country for events running in July at all levels of competition from BE80 to CIC3* plus three further months of competition. We are also looking at the practicality of extending the season into November."
