Clayton Fredericks recovering in French Hospital

Clayton Fredericks,  was competing in a three-day event in Saumur, when he fell from Be My Guest during the cross-country phase.

Fredericks, who won the event on two previous occasions, was then taken to hospital in Angers.

The 44-year-old, who is based  near Devizes in Wiltshire with his wife and former Badminton winner Lucinda, was a member of Australia's silver medal-winning team at the 2008 Olympics.

"I am feeling frustrated to be lying here in hospital, but it is just cautionary as it appeared Lottie (Be My Guest) stepped right on my stomach," Fredericks said on his Facebook page.

"Will be scanned in a few days and hopefully on my way back to London preparations."
