Yorkshire to host 2014 FEI Junior Eventing European Championships

Last week the FEI Bureau allocated Continental Championships (from 2012 to 2015).  British Eventing is extremely pleased to announce that Bishop Burton College in East Yorkshire will host the 2014 FEI European Junior Eventing Championships.  In addition, Blair Castle was also awarded the 2015 Senior Europeans.

Bishop Burton, one of the country’s finest land-based colleges, is already one of the northern region’s most popular bi-annual British Eventing Affiliated Event locations. Jeanette Dawson OBE, Bishop Burton College Principal and Chief Executive said: “We are incredibly happy to have won the bid. We held our inaugural FEI Championships here for the Pony Europeans in 2010 when Britain’s Eventing Pony team won gold – so hopefully we can bring our home team good luck again in 2014 too!”

British Eventing Chief Executive, Mike Etherington-Smith said: “The team at Bishop Burton has been hosting BE events for over twenty five years now. This, coupled with them organising a very successful FEI Pony European Championship in 2010 firmly establishes them as excellent hosts for 2014. I am sure that the organisers will pull out all the stops to ensure that competitors from all over Europe will be made extremely welcome and enjoy this fantastic venue.”

Bishop Burton has a national reputation for quality and is the only College in the UK to hold Centre of Vocational Excellence status in both Agriculture and Equine. For more information please visit www.bishopburton.ac.uk
