GB pony squad announced ahead of European Championships

Following the final pony trail at Barbury Castle International Horse Trials, the squad of six competitors and two reserves who will represent Great Britain on the Charles Owen British Pony Team at the FEI Pony European Championships has been announced.


The Pony Europeans are held every year, and this year they will be taking place in Malmo, Sweden, 5-9th August.


The team (in alphabetical order):


  • Saffton Cresswell, aged 14 from Worcestershire, riding her own Cuffesgrage Little Ric, a 10 year old bay gelding.
  • Pheobe Locke, aged 15 from Somerset, riding her own Quay, a 13 year old British bred mare.
  • Pheobe Nocholson, aged 16 from Herefordshire, riding 15 year old Welsh section C Llanstephan Brenin.
  • Jessica Thomas, aged 15 from Cheshire, riding her own 12 year old grey Another Island.
  • Thomas Tulloch, aged 15 from Shropshire, riding spirit, a 17 year old bay gelding.
  • Harriet Wright, aged 16 from Derbyshire riding the 10 year old Foxtown Cuffynx


In reserve are 14 year old Connie Warde-Aldam from South Yorkshire with her 15 year old British bred gelding Hotshots, and 16 year old Isabel White from Nottinghamshire with her own 10 year old dun gelding Daydream Fourteen.
